What I like most about living in Big Sky: I love all that Big Sky offers-- the open spaces, fresh air, wonderful people, outdoor activities and overall quality of life. We came through Big Sky for the first time when the wild flowers were at their peak. We couldn't believe how beautiful it was here... and how quiet and undeveloped.

Favourite thing to do in my free time: You can find me hiking with my husband and my amazing dog, Nieya. In the winter, we're on the slopes (sans "the dog"). I also attempt my hand at gardening, which is truly a challenge at this altitude, and keep up with my love of playing the piano and singing when possible.

My favorite quote: "Any glimpse into the life of an animal quickens our own and makes it so much larger and better in every way." - Joh Muir

Little-known fact about me: Mother nature inspires me-- the miracle of wild flowers in the spring, the resilience of the animals that make it through another winter, the song birds and hummingbirds that fly hundreds or thousands of miles to return here every year are awe-inspiring to me.

Why I'm passionate about WIA: I grew up in a small rural town in northern Minnesota where often families went without for basic needs or activities that could enrich a young person's life. I feel a strong connection to the work Women In Action does for members of the Big Sky community who struggle with this same issue.
